Community Circles

Our aim is to make your local community self sufficient in best supporting the children and young people who are marginalised by wider society.

As a volunteer you will join other volunteers in the AFC network. AFC will support you to develop your own project involving an activity with young people - this will become your ‘circle’. AFC will offer some training in group facilitation and trauma-informed practice. Once you start we will offer regular group supervision, reflective space and networking opportunities for the Circle Makers.

Who are eligible to become a Circle Maker

Everyone over 18 years of age!!!! (Young people, parents, local business owners, church, youth clubs, etc.)

As the Circle Maker:

You will develop your idea about how to support young people around their mental wellbeing.

You will become part of AFC Circle Makers network and AFC will offer you specifically created training and reflective space to share and learn from each other.

You will gain new expertise and skills in developing your own project, working with young people and you will make new connections within your community.

You are expected to sign up at least for 6 months and offer at least 6 sessions to young people, whether as a group or individually.
